Good News According to John [ a translation from the Greek ] Chapter 2 And on the third day, a wedding took place in Cana of Galilee. And the mother of Jesus was there. Moreover, Jesus and his followers were invited to the wedding. And being deficient of wine, the mother of Jesus said to him, "they have no wine." And Jesus said to her, "woman, what is that to me and you? My hour is not yet come." And his mother said to the servants, "Anyhow, whatever he may say to you, do." Now there were standing there six water pots of stone, according to the purification of the Jews, having space for two or three liquid measures. Jesus said to them, "fill the water pots with water." And they filled them up to the brim. And he said to them, "draw out now and take it to the headwaiter." And they carried it. Moreover, when the headwaiter had tasted the water having become wine, he knew not where it came from; however, the servants who had drawn the water knew. The headwaiter called the bridegroom and said to him, "every man first sets out the truly good wine and, the inferior when they might have drank freely; you have kept the truly good wine until now." This is the beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee and, he revealed his glory. And his followers believed in him. After this, he, his mother, his brothers and his followers went down to Capernaum. And they did not stay there many days. And the passover of the Jews was near and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And in the temple, he found those selling oxen, sheep and doves and the money-changers sitting. And having made a whip out of chords, he drove out all out of the temple; together with sheep, oxen and the money-changers. He poured out the coins and he overthrew the tables. And to those who were selling the doves he said, "Stop making the house of my father a house of trade." His followers remembered that it is written, "The zeal of your house has consumed me." Therefore, the Jews answered and said to him, "what sign do you show, that you do these things to us?" Jesus answered and said to them, "destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up." Therefore, the Jews said, this temple was built in forty-six years and you will raise it up in three days?" However, he spoke about the temple of his body. Therefore, when he was raised up out of the dead, his followers remembered that he had said this. And they believed the scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken. Morever, when he was in Jerusalem during the passover in the feast, many believed in his name, seeing of him the signs that he was doing. However, Jesus did not entrust himself to them, because he knew all people.
