Philosophy Of The Common People


MEXICAN STANDOFF


                 In the chaos of my formative years of adolescence

                 I was taught that the gain of the material is the true goal

                 Thus I’ve strived long and hard toward such end to aspire

                 Toward pleasures of the peripheral at the price of my soul

                 And though I’ve habitually craved the seemingly easy lot

                 Of the wealthy capitalistic deceitful snake-oil charmer

                 I’ve somehow been unable to match the merry heart

                 Of the poor and itinerant Mexican dirt farmer
